June Lucid Dreams During 2014

June 2014

I had a great lucid dream last night, I was walking around a museum in France with my girlfriend and we were about to leave but the receptionist said we had not seen everything yet. So we went back and found a door that looked unfamiliar, as I walked up to the door I became lucid and walked though. I entered a huge circular room. The walls had epic paintings on them, I started to look around but realised I was becoming disorientated. So I focused my attention on just one painting and then made the room rotate so that I could see each painting.

Some were not very impressive but two paintings really stood out and took my breath away. One was of an man who had a fiery set of angle wings with his arm out stretched, the vividness of his form was really impressive. The second painting was better, it had two angels painted in pure white light. I could fix my attention on the piece and analyse how it was painted, it seemed that the background of the painting was made of various light skin tone shades but the angels themselves were iridescent, translucent and shimmering. My lucidity was at its strongest now, I looked around the room and encountered a library full of black and red leather bound books but was suddenly woken so I didn’t get to flick through any.

It was a very cool dream and I am inspired to now paint an angel or spirit entity in the same style, it would be interesting to see if I could capture the same effect!

I recently had a lucid dreaming breakthrough that I would like to share. I love flying in my lucid dreams and have been able to almost master control of myself.

But one problem I always had was that if I flew to high I would start to lose lucidity and wake myself up. But the other night I experienced something new, I started to fly away from my environment and up into the stars and like usual I felt lucidity slipping and I was going to wake up, but this time I put my hands out in
front of my dream body, my aim here was that I was able to focus on an object to not lose lucidity.

And for the first time I managed to stay completely lucid in ‘space’, I noticed the more I focused on my hands I would start to see a pin prick of light, after focusing on the light it started to become a portal and I could see a new dream location in the distance. So I now was able to fly through this blackness of space and into a new lucid dream. I have been able to do this 3 times this week already on separate nights. So I am hoping I have found a way method of keeping my lucidity when my flying starts to wake me up.

I am guessing this just comes down to stimulating your dream senses to keep you fixed in the lucid state. I know that in dreams where I interact with objects and can smell and taste things, the dreams are normally longer and much more stable. Anyway if your having a similar problem give it a shot!

This painting is inspired by an odd lucid dream I had this week.

I was in a car park and looked to the sky and saw streams of comets heading towards me. At that point I became lucid.

The comets would then explode and drop colourful,glass/crystalline statues of strange plants and birds all around me. I was then moving around the car park and analysing each statue for as long as possible. It was amazing how smooth, vibrant and life like each object looked. I just had to paint a tiny painting to celebrate the dream.

This quick painting is inspired by a lucid dream that has kept me mystified for the past few weeks.

I was walking down a street and became lucid, I thought it would be a great chance to find an art gallery to see if my mind would produce any interesting images for me to bring back and paint.

I ended up in a gallery and saw Laurence Caruana (amazing artist check out his work!) He was studying a piece of art made from cloth and wanted to purchase it. It was an apple with a labyrinth inside. Now I know there could be so much to study here but what I haven’t been able to figure out is why 1/4 of the apple was missing!

It may have just been a glitch in my mind or maybe it really has meaning. Maybe a future painting will reveal it’s mystery.
